[19,20번 문항 해석] 2014년 10월 고2 Uway 중앙교육 모의 대학수학능력시험 문제 해석하기

[19번]

In an automobile, it is possible to isolate the driver and the passengers inside from most of the vibrations and sound. Although this might be a good idea for the passengers, it is a bad idea for the driver. Drivers need to have a connection to some naturally occurring input that can serve as an informative cue to aid in driving. For this reason, designers have had to work hard to reintroduce the outside environment in the form of “road feel” to the driver through sound and vibration of the steering wheel. This is like when you use an electrical drill. When you use the drill, you know how important the sound of the motor and the fell of the drill are to accurate, precise drilling.

“Don’t look at me like that, Ted. I’ll be all right. Give it your best shot at your audition.” Mom said when I was reluctant to leave the ward. My sister Julie added, “I’ll be with her all the time. If something comes up, I’ll keep you informed right away.” Still, however, something seemed to weigh heavily on me. Mom had had the same symptoms that had taken away my grandmother, and she seemed to be critically ill. At the audition, I couldn’t focus at all, and the nearer my turn came, the more agitated I became. That’s when my cell phone rang. It was from Julie. As I pushed the “speak”button, I felt my finger trembling. “Ted, Mom is okay now. The doctor said it is nothing serious,” she said. Suddenly, I felt as if I were in a different world. Only then did I feel I could concentrate my mind on the audition.
